From Pine Cones to Acorns

We arrived in Kentucky in late August just in time for summer and sunshine. We're so glad to get some good, old-fashioned, so hot you want to take all your clothes off summer. We felt like we had a chance to dry out from the Washington rain and get our ya-yas out wearing shorts and t-shirts before the fall cool weather really hit. We couldn't believe all the sunshine and blue skies.

We traded in the pine cones and pine needles in for acorns. There's a big Pin Oak in front of our apartment and Skye has had fun putting the "hats" on the acorns, just as she liked to play with the pine cones at Ken Lake. I know it took us a long time to get back here, but it's good to be home.
