Introducing . . .

Blame it on Heather and Leo. Their wedding CD has been one of our favorites since just after Skye was born, due to the joyful, happy songs. Recently, Skye rediscovered this little jem and absolutely fell in love with the last song, "Marry Me," by Dolly Parton. It has a pretty strong bluegrass feel to it, and bluegrass is just about the only thing that little Bug would like to hear these days. In the car, we always hear, "Could you play some bluegrass?" When a song that crosses the line into the country genre, our discerning listener surprisingly says, "I don't like this song, it hurts my head." To which Mama and Papa always agree in laughter, since we don't enjoy forays into country either. But, back to our little star, this particular song has been played over and over and over, and all of the words are known by heart. We have watched Dolly on u-tube and Skye now pretends to be either her or her daughter several times a week as she plays fiddle (ukulele with wooden play knife)or guitar(ukulele)or banjo (ukulele) and sings her little heart out. It is quite the site, folks.



I guess as role models go, Dolly is not a bad one. We just never suspected a year ago that Skye we be so smitten, and that we would be the daily recipients of concerts by the one and only daughter of Dolly Parton.
